Texas Road Trip-Spending Time with Family

As I said before, you either you spend time in air-conditioning or outside in a pool. The temps while we were there were anywhere from 100+ to low 90's--but remember we are near Houston, so the humidity is always high. It is like living in an armpit! Dale's neighborhood has a nice pool, and one afternoon we took the girls along with Anna Beth. Now, usually the pool water is refreshing, but on this afternoon it was like hot tub water. The girls really didn't notice at all--they just had fun swimming.

The girls REALLY enjoyed spending time with their Uncle Dale--I kinda think he enjoyed hanging out with them as well. They can wear someone out real quick, though.

There is nothing like getting rides from Uncle Dale..and nothing like little girls giggling!

Anna Beth is such a cutie. When we were there, she was about 7 months old. She was really trying to crawl.

One of the other highlights of the trip was Aunt Abbie's baby shower. She is due to have her first child, a boy, in September. Uncle Dale was nice enough to take the girls and entertain them while I was at the shower. They had fun at the pool again. I think he wore them out pretty good and they wore him out as well.

The girls picked some flowers from around the yard with permission from Aunt Etta. These are some of my favorite pictures of the girls...so innocent...so sweet.

All things must come to an end. We really started missing Steve and he was really missing his girls. We were ready to head back home...not looking forward to the long drive, but looking forward to Montana and cooler weather. It is always hard to leave family that you don't get to see often. I am sure the next time we see them, Anna will have changed so much and we will have a new cousin to gush over.
